Case Metadil

About Metadil

Founded in 1974 by Massimo Rodorigo, Metadil was born from the desire to create more comfortable, higher quality school furniture. Throughout its 51-year history, the company has established itself as a benchmark in the education sector, serving most private schools and universities in Brazil and exporting to Europe and the United States.
With a focus on innovation and excellence, Metadil has always sought to develop products that prioritize comfort, durability, and design, competing with the best manufacturers in the international market.

Metadil Challenges

Even with an efficient production line, Metadil felt the need to increase productivity, modernize the painting process, and ensure even greater quality and resistance in its products, essential requirements for competing globally.
The previous booth, which had been in use for about 15 years, already met quality standards, but had limitations in terms of process control, production speed, and continuous monitoring of the stages.
It was necessary to implement a solution capable of:

  • Double production capacity.

  • Increase paint resistance to meet stringent export testing requirements.

  • Ensure constant and precise control of all stages of application, curing, and washing.

Solution: Pre-Treatment and Powder Coating Line

With over 30 years of partnership, Metadil and Erzinger developed, together with the chemical supplier, a tailor-made project for the new paint line.
The solution was designed and installed in a new building, using the most modern technologies on the market. Among the differentials of the Erzinger solution:

  • New painting line with almost double the capacity of the previous one.

  • Modernized processes, including new baths and paints, to increase line speed by 30% to 50%.

  • Real-time monitoring of critical points in the process, ensuring constant control of temperature, dilution, and application stages.

  • Optimized greenhouse and cabin dimensions, ensuring uniform curing and consistent quality.

  • Integration with internal laboratory, enabling daily start-up tests and Salt Spray tests.

The project was developed by three parties — Metadil, Erzinger, and a chemical supplier — ensuring that each stage met production, quality, and global competitiveness requirements.

Key Results Achieved

The new paint line has brought significant gains for Metadil:

  • Superior and consistent quality – tripling the resistance of the ink compared to the technical standard.

  • High productivity – with up to a 50% increase in line speed.

  • Greater process reliability – continuous monitoring prevents failures and corrects deviations immediately.

  • International competitiveness – products with quality standards on par with the best in the world.

  • Operational peace of mind – total control of the painting stages and reduction of rework.

For Massimo Rodorigo, founder of Metadil, the result was clear:

“We have achieved fantastic results. We have tripled the resistance of the paint, increased speed, and now have much more control over the process. This partnership with Erzinger, which has lasted more than 30 years, is essential for us to continue innovating and offering excellent products to Brazil and the world.”
